Braces are the most common method of straightening crooked or crowded teeth and closing gaps. They are often used to correct underbites, malocclusions, overbites, open bites, deep bites, cross bites, and various other flaws of the teeth and jaw. Dental braces are often used in conjunction with other orthodontic appliances to help widen the palate or jaws. Tooth-colored braces offer the same effectiveness as metal braces with a more aesthetic appearance.
